Do guys tell other guys who they like?

Last year there was this guy that always talked to me. second semester we had another class together. his best friend also had that class. 'M' would always pull pranks on me cause im the easist targer while P, his best friend, would defedn me. i thought P was sweet in the brotherly sort of way. i mean i thought he was cute in the baby puppy kinda way as well. kinda like being adorable. this year i didnt have any classes with either of them. then came second semester where i saw M has the same class as me. we didnt talk at first because we havent seen each other for a whole year but wehn we did talk all the memories of last year came back. he then asked me something out of the blue. he asked me if i ever or still liked P. being the closed off person i am when it comes to relationships, i denied it. i mean i like P as the brother i always wanted but i never saw us really as being a couple.now that i reflect on it now, i cud kinda see us together. when i denied it M was like oh ok then stopped talking. i hope i didnt ruin my chances of ever being with P. everytime i would see him in the hallways he would just walk away pretending to not see me but before he would say hi and everything. what should i do?
