Umm... I broke up somebody's relationship?

Ok, this guy named Jesse, has been my friend forever. He has liked me for the longest time but he has a girlfriend. One night I was at my best friends house and he came over to talk to me about my personal "broken-heart-past-relationships-problem… And I was like on the verge of crying and he gave me a hug and kissed me on the cheek. I'm pretty sure it was just a brotherly thing although I have known that he wanted to kiss me for a while. But my other friend saw this and told his girlfriend immediately. Now Jesse and his girl are broken up, his "now ex girlfriend" hates me and him, I'm mad at my best friend, and I just don't know what to do. Am I a bad person? Because I really feel that way :(
