How to turn off ac in 2004 bmw 325ci?

I was in my friends 2004 bmw 325ci and i could not figure out how to turn of the AC. it has automatic climate control with arrows where you press up or down to set a desired temp. it has AC button and all that but how do you just shut the whole thing off so nothing comes out of the vents. thanks
