What is the truth, was he a brother or a lover or what?

I felt awkward when the husband of my friend also a friend and ex-colleague of my husband portrayed a brotherly relationship towards me, Invited me over to a hotel and suddenly disclosed his liking for me and offered me for a secret relationship with him. When i told him off ,said was oly trying to treat my depression and still took me as a sister. This was just a psychological treatment he was trying on me to revive my physical relationship with my husband. After that gradually stopped calling me himself and also stopped answering my calls.
