Can someone tell me what the **** was up with last nights South Park episode?

While yes, this is a mid-season finale, I kind of hope this is the final episode. They have not signed on for Season 16 and Matt and Trey always said they didn't want to be making South Park when they are old (the episode title is "You're Getting Old"). While I am saddened and disheartened by this episode and the thoughts of no new episodes closing in, I don't know if there really is a better way for them to go out than this. Plus, not everything in life has a happy ending, so why does this need to? It's very art imitating life sort of ending.
